Sweet, caring and funny if you can get close enough to find that out. Has a mean streak that he keeps tightly reined in. History: As a young child, Luke was happy and out-going. The son of a well-known makeup designer (Anne "Penny" Smith -- pb Marcia Cross) and highly acclaimed personal trainer (Nathanial "Nate" Smith -- pb Chris Meloni), he loved outdoor activities and sports and was a very friendly and spirited child. At 13, Luke was skateboarding to a friend's house and was struck by a drunk driver. His injuries were severe, with the doctors giving him a less than 50% possibility of survival. But Luke is strong and he pulled through. Despite a series of reconstructive surgeries, he still has a large scar on his face. He also suffers from joint pain as a result of the crash. Since his accident, Luke has become extremely introverted. His parents, both based in careers where image is everything, don't really know what to do with an ugly child. Luke resents his parents for putting him through so many cosmetic surgeries and procedures and doesn't understand why his parents would treat him differently just because he's a little banged up. He's become very shy and extremely awkward, so he generally keeps to himself and doesn't make friends very easily. He does have a good sense of humour and a wry, sarcastic wit. He's sweet and gentle, but rarely lets anyone get close enough to find that out. He enjoys all things mechanical and computer related, and often has disassembled electronics strewn around in his bedroom. Despite the accident, he still skateboards. POSITIVE: Talents: anything technical/scientific comes very easily, can pull some dope skateboarding moves. Personality Strength: kind and gentle, funny. NEGATIVE: Flaws: social sciences and languages completely escape him. Personality Flaws: doesn't make friends easily, awkward, can be impatient and snarky.
